The Courier reported that Commissioners Court members “agreed to increase the recently adopted homestead exemption from 10 percent to 20 percent” on March 29, 2017 which would “require the court to make budget cuts to make up for $28 million in lost property tax revenues in Fiscal Year 2018.”
