The Freeman Foundation For Neurological Disease Research is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to accelerating breakthrough research and supporting innovative scientific investigations for neurological brain disorders. It was founded by Tim Freeman, who as a healthy athlete and professional, was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease at the young age of 49, just five years after losing his mother, Beth Freeman, to the disease.
After years of hosting events to spread awareness about Parkinson’s Disease and raising funds to support Team Fox For Parkinson’s Research and The Michael J. Fox Foundation, Tim decided to launch the Freeman Foundation for Neurological Disease Research in April 2019.
“This is our first year that our tournament will also benefit the Freeman Foundation for Neurological Disease Research in addition to The Michael J. Fox Foundation,” said Freeman. “As I tell my friends and family, Parkinson’s has picked the wrong person to mess with, and I am fiercely dedicated to supporting research to defeat this horrible disease. Individual players as well as teams are welcome, and we are accepting sponsors and in-kind donations to help make this year’s tournament a huge success for an important cause.”
Zach Richmond added, “Parkinson’s disease has touched the lives of many people and their loved ones, and I know first-hand the devastating impact of learning a loved one has been diagnosed as my own father suffers from the disease. The community is encouraged to come out and support this worthwhile organization that is on a mission to fuel research efforts to end Parkinson’s. It’s truly a race against the clock, but we can help by driving together for this worthwhile cause through this fun golf outing.”
